Bianchi Sempre 2011 – my bike crush!
Posted October 26, 2010
Well I’ve heard of guys having a “man crush” but I have a bike crush! The 2011 Bianchi range is out and the one I am absolutely lusting over is the Bianchi Sempre 2011. Sure the Oltre is the top of the range, but the price is so far out my range that I don’t even look at it!

I have been anticipating the arrival of the Sempre for some time. It was reviewed in Cycling Plus some time ago and hence ended up on the BikeRadar website. They gave it a stingy 4 stars (out of 5) but they knocked that one star off due to the wheelset being Fulcrum’s Racing 7 set. Which, having tried them on my Cannondale Slice – I have to agree that they are a horrific wheelset. But wheels are meant to be upgraded, simple as that. I would rather pay for a great bike with dodgy kit than a dodgy bike with great kit.
The beauty of this bike is in the detailing. The colour coding is just beautiful, not just of the frame itself the matching forks, brake hoods and handlebar tape and so on. Even the FSA supplied Gossamer brakes are colour co-ordinated with the Reparto Corse livery! Absolute work of art. The more I look at it, the more I notice, like the colour co-ordinated bottle cage!
You can’t base a bike’s merit on looks!
No, that is absolutely right. But based on the description and the reviews thus far. This bike is built for speed as well as all day comfort. A well constructed carbon monocoque frame, and the BB30 bottom bracket that I love so much on my Cannondale Slice.
I currently ride a Bianchi as my main road bike. It’s a much older version and was actually bought second hand. But I love it. The way it handles, climbs and descends is sensational. I have no doubt that the Sempre is just as good and likely to be better.
Where to get it from
I haven’t ridden this yet, but if I had the money it would be top of my list. No questions asked.
Evans Cycles are selling this along with the rest of the of the new Bianchi range. Click here for more.
