Real Reviews – Specialized Arm Warmers

specialized-arm-warmer Now, you may ask yourself why we’re publishing a review on warmers in June. Well as those of you familiar with the untoward British weather can testify, summer months doesn’t always mean summer weather in the UK!

We here at Daily Cycle are big fans of Specialized’s kit. We feel that its great fit, fantastic performance and reasonable pricing make it some of the best kit out there; so we were expecting great things from Specialized’s arm warmers.

We’ve owned a number of pairs of arm warmers over the years and the main issue we’ve had is that they don’t quite fit our arms and tend to slide down leaving us with chilly forearms and an odd-looking habit of constantly adjusting them. These arm warmers didn’t let us down, holding their place thanks to grippers at the top and anatomical shaping.

The Roubaix fabric kept our arms warm throughout spring and autumn, and worked great underneath our winter gear. The thickness of the fabric was a little thin on the cooler autumnal rides when the cooler breezes felt slightly biting, but good base layer selection and a gilet worked wonders.

Conversely the warmers also lasted us through last years very changeable summer, proving their wicking credentials on slightly cooler summer rides and not causing us too overheat like some of our previous warmers.

The warmers were also suitably flexible, not limiting our movement or cutting circulation and meaning they fit all shapes and sizes. The one thing we would highly recommend considering is the length of the warmers; we personally had no problem, but other testers had issues with the warmers coming up a bit short, so if you know your arms come up a little long on sizing charts then it may be worth going up a size.

Importantly, these warmers last. We’ve had ours for around 18 months now, as we always say we like to do our testing properly at Daily Cycle! The warmers have kept their shape and haven’t lost much of their stretch or wicking properties despite over a year and a half’s heavy use and washing!

Overall we’d give the Specialized Arm Warmers a very healthy 9/10 thanks to their great fit, reasonable pricing (they come in at an RRP of £24.99) and good technical materials, highly recommended!

Currently on offer at Evans Cycles.

Happy Cycling :-)
