I guess it’s that time of year when people start thinking about New Year’s resolutions. I’m not really a believer in New Year resolutions because the only one I ever managed to achieve was giving up smoking (about 5 years ago). Granted that was a massive achievement but I think I was going to do it anyway, it just so happened to coincide with the New Year. Next year is however, going to be a pretty big year for me....

But winter training is essential if you want to be on top of your game come spring time. Here’s how to maintain motivation throughout the winter months.

Are you a beginner road cyclist? If so then great – it’s always a pleasure to know that new cyclists just getting into the sport are checking out my site. It’s also great to know that more people are getting into road cycling and cycling in general, in a big way. I think the Olympic success of last year and this years success in the Tour de France with Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins doing so well, is really giving British cycling a massive boost. Saying that, the 2009 Chris Boardman bikes having a very race oriented geometry so will probably fair quite well round a 10 mile TT. If you’re looking for a cheap way to get involved with Time Trialling then there is one major thing you need and that is…

So ever since Christmas 2008 I have been using a T-Mobile G1 (the Google phone). I have to say that I love it. As a developer I really wanted a full physical QWERTY keyboard rather than the software based one offered by the iPhone. Anyway I digress. The first thing I did when I got the phone was to look through the market place for any decent apps. To my amazement there was (and still is) an awesome app called CardioTrainer which can be used for cycling, running or really any outdoor activity that you want to log.
