About Us

daily cycle - for everyday cycling heroes

Daily Cycle has come a very long way in a relatively short space of time. Starting as a road cycling blog in 2008, progress was slow but steady. Over time - more writers joined the team.

The level of cycling ability in the team ranges from beginner cyclists to professional Ironman/triathlon coaches and everything in between. But we all share one common passion - cycling, and more importantly - the joy of writing about cycling and sharing experiences with others.

Over time popularity has grown as more cyclists have become aware of us. A community has formed, predominantly on Facebook but also through Twitter and Google+.

Brands are now very interested in working with us which means we are able to collect together in one place - not just an interesting, varied cycling blog but also a fantastic online cycling shop. We are very proud of all our articles and all the brands that we are able to sell through our store. They each add value to the website as a whole and hopefully enhance your online cycling experience.

We hope you will join our community of bike minded people and help us continue to grow in an organic manner. We are not hyper aggressive marketing types, we are simply cyclists looking to make time off the bike more enjoyable. Here is some more about us...

Tim Bland

tim bland - owner of Daily Cycle29 year old Tim is the owner and editor of Daily Cycle. He started cycling as a mischievous youngster but only got into “proper” cycling in his mid twenties when he discovered that riding a road bike felt like flying compared to his standard hefty mountain bike.
Inspired by the sport, he created Daily Cycle – a one man band blog all about cycling which is now contributed to by multiple excellent individuals and is enjoyed by thousands of people each and every month. As a proud father, he doesn't have as much time as he'd like on the bike but enjoys every single moment of it whilst out and about.

Andy Ward

andy ward - cycling writer for daily cycle42 year old Andy got into cycling at the ripe old age of 38 when his knees decided that they couldn't do football any more. Unable to believe what he'd been missing, he now can't get enough of it. He has enjoyed a trip to the Alps, numerous sportives and this year rode up Mount Ventoux, living to tell the tale (just). He enjoys racing against the clock in time trials and hill climbs and has developed an unhealthy obsession with the concept of marginal gains. A member of Leicester Forest CC, Andy contributes regularly to the Daily Cycle website and Cycling Plus Magazine.

Rob Ellis

rob ellis - cycling writer for daily cycle

At the ripe old age of 18, Rob is the youngest Daily Cycle author. However, his writing style and cycling knowledge far out weighs his short time on this planet.

“let's be honest, we're a bit of a strange breed: engrossed in our sport, lovers of all things lycra, and from time to time a tad masochistic!

I love to write about my views on racing (I'd say I can get almost too into it when watching racing on TV), my views on gear, training, the odd bit of sports science and generally anything to do with the great sport we call cycling!”

Autumn Barlow

autumn barlow - writer for Daily Cycle

Autumn is a professional writer who is also a very keen cyclist. She is a wannabe road cyclist who is currently stuck riding a hefty hybrid as she commutes to her various writing gigs.

Amy O'Halloran

She has a 3 year old son and her boyfriend is professional cyclist Rob Partridge who rides for Endura racing. She quickly caught the cycling bug after going to watch a few British races and has since completed several sportives and made her racing début this year.

Amy is a member of Dirtwheels Cycles CC in Otley and is a regular face at any northern races. Other than writing for Daily Cycle, Amy also runs the #saveacyclist campaign that is spreading across Twitter and indeed the internet.

Andy Brodziak

andy brodziak - professional coach for daily cycleAndy is the resident coach for Daily Cycle. He is a professional triathlon coach and corrective exercise trainer based in SW London. As well as being a proud father he is also someone who has smashed an Ironman event or two.
